NIPA Project Scope

The project scope is divided into three major scopes; 1) provide a proper interoperability model for the Myanmar National PKI; 2) perform readiness review on the inclusion of certificates of Root Certification Authority (Root CA) and Certification Authorities (CA) on mainstream ; and 3) establishing To- Be model for Government CA.



Major Activities

The objective of the first on-site survey is to collect data and confirm the current status of Myanmar’s PKI.

•   Two report meetings: Kick-Off and Wrap-up for each on-site Trip (2 times)

•   Interviews and questionnaire-based surveys to analyse current status of various environment and collect data

•   Half-day PKI Seminar at the first on-site trip

•   Data acquisition and analysis to verify To-Be model based on consideration of As-Is analysis

•   Preparation of deliverables in each stage:

   - EA/As-Is Analysis Stage

   - To-Be Model Stage

   - Feasibility Analysis Stage

   - Final Stage



I. Half-day PKI Seminar

On 13th June, 2014, MICTDC and NIPA held Half-Day PKI Seminar at Room 201, Myanmar ICT Park. Mr. Khun Oo, Managing Director of MICTDC and Mr. Cho, Min Young from KISA delivered the opening speeches, followed by discussions by Ms. Aye Aye Thinn (Root CA), Mr. Shin, Jin Hwan (KISA) and Mr. Cha, Myung Suk (KISA). The Half-day seminar was actively participated by attendees from Myanmar Post and Telecommunications, Myanmar Customs, Yatanarpon CA, Myanmar Online Security Service CA and participants from Software development companies.

II. Objectives of the Second On-Site Survey
